Storm vs. Red Tornado Setup
This is the setup photo for Storm vs. Red Tornado.
The backdrop is made of two sheets of scrapbooking paper held in place with sticky notes. The figures each stand on a sheet of scrapbooking paper.
The artificial sun on Storm’s backdrop was created using several incandescent flashlights aimed at the clouds. Red Tornado’s whirlwind is an accessory that came with the figure.
The figures are lit with a push-light mounted on clear plastic cups to the left of the camera.
Above the scene a large circular diffuser softens the ambient light in the room. A dark strip of fabric is positioned above the backdrop to darken it a bit.
Storm is suspended using invisible thread attached with binder clips to a black wire that runs from one side of the large circular diffuser to the other.
