Patrick Star vs. Pinky Setup

Patrick Star vs. Pinky Setup

Posted to Flickr on 04 September 2010. Part of the Setup series.

This is the setup photo for Patrick Star vs. Pinky.

The backdrop is made with two pieces of scrapbooking paper, a water-like print on the left and a distressed pink print on the right. Both pieces of paper are attached to foamboard behind the figures with sticky notes. Each figure stands on scrapbooking paper as well: a leather print for Patrick (which I was hoping would resemble the bottom of the ocean) and a rusty-brown print for Pinky.

The figures are lit with two push-lights, one on each side of the camera.

Above the scene a large circular diffuser (not shown) softens the ambient light in the room. A dark strip of fabric (also not shown) is positioned just above the backdrop to darken it a bit.
