EV-9D9 vs. 2-1B Setup
This is the setup photo for EV-9D9 vs. 2-1B.
Two pieces of scrapbooking paper form the backdrop, both with a shiny surface. EV-9D9 stands in front of copper-colored piece while 2-1B stands in front of a white piece with a blue tint. Both sheets are attached to foamboard with sticky notes.
EV-9D9 stands on a dark, rusty-looking sheet of scrapbooking paper. 2-1B stands on a white piece with some glitter on it.
I thought I was going to have trouble posing EV-9D9 because her right leg is curved in an unusual way. However, once I began setting the scene, I realized I could make it look like she’s walking, minimizing the awkward curve.
The figures are front lit with a single push-light each. I backlit EV-9D9 with a regular incandescent flashlight balanced on some clear plastic cups because I didn’t want a blue tint. For 2-1B I just did my regular thing: a push-LED in a clear plastic cup.
A large circular diffuser above the scene softens the ambient light in the room. A piece of dark fabric (not shown) is positioned above the backdrop to darken it, letting the backlighting shine a bit more.
