Doctor Strange vs. Doctor Fate Setup
This is the setup photo for Doctor Strange vs. Doctor Fate.
The backdrop is made of two glittery sheets of scrapbooking paper held in place with binder clips and sticky notes. The "floor" is a sheet of clear acrylic.
The doctors are back-lit with several incandescent flashlights. Additionally, I "light painted" the backdrop with an incandescent flashlight (seen in front of Fate) to provide even more sparkle. This type of light painting involves moving a flashlight over a surface while the camera takes a medium or long exposure shot.
Above the scene a large circular diffuser softens the ambient light in the room. A dark strip of fabric is positioned above the scene to darken it a bit.
