I tend to avoid taking group photos. I never feel like each character is getting their due. Also, because I avoid them, I don’t have a lot of practice with group shots, and I end up spending way too long getting them set up. I have much to learn.
However, I knew this photo would make me smile. After waiting literally decades, I finally have 3.75 inch action figures based on The Six Million Dollar Man, including Bigfoot here, and I wanted to celebrate by getting him together with some of his furry brethren.
I would like to thank to my high school friend Margaret Soderholtz for sending me a box full of fun figures, including the Tasmanian Devil and Beast from Beauty and the Beast seen here.
The setup for this photo was extremely simple.
The backdrop is a sheet of blue gift wrap with clouds printed on it. The figures all stand on an old black shelf I often use. I had to prop up the Mugato some so that he could be seen between Animal’s arms.
Above the scene is a large circular diffuser that softens the ambient light in the room. A black cloth darkens the backdrop a bit.
I experimented with other backgrounds before deciding on a normal blue sky.
This hairy bunch has also been seen here:
Have you seen this photo somewhere else? Or are you using it yourself? I would love to hear from you! It's always fun to learn where my photos turn up.

"Bigfoot" is a hairy, humanoid creature said to live in the forests of the Pacific Nortwest region of North America. The creature is also known as "sasquatch" and is sometimes associated with the Yeti of the Himalayas. Most of the scientific community questions the existence of Bigfoot due primarily to the lack of supporting physical evidence. Bigfoot was a recurring character on the 1970s television series The Six Million Dollar Man.
The Six Million Dollar Man
The Six Million Dollar Man (1974) is a television series that follows the adventures of a former United States astronaut who, after a terrible accident, is given bionic implants and completes missions for a government organization called the OSI. The title character of Steve Austin was portrayed by Lee Majors. The series was based on the novel Cyborg by Martin Caidin. A spin-off show The Bionic Woman and several television movies followed.
