1999 Hand-made Supergirl Statue

1999 Hand-made Supergirl Statue

Posted to Flickr on 03 May 2009. Part of the JD's House of Miscellany series.

My wife Leslie sculpted this polymer clay Supergirl statue for me in the summer of 1999. It was the first head-to-toe human likeness she created.

Before she began work on it, I expressed the opinion that she was not capable of sculpting anything that looked like a real person. Boy, did I regret saying that! On the other hand, I did end up with a pretty cool statue as a result.

This is one of many curious items collected in JD’s House of Miscellany.

This photo was taken in my kitchen using some pretty simple Gear. You might be surprised to discover how low-tech my "photography studio" really is.
