1982 Jerry Apple Ornament

For Christmas 1982, my mother purchased apple Christmas tree ornaments for each member of the family and wrote our names on them. For many years afterwards, these were a part of our Christmas celebration. My parents no longer put up a tree during the holidays, so Mom gave me her and Dad’s apples to put on my tree, which we now do every year to honor them.

My parents have always been and continue to be an inspiration for me. From them I learned the values of family, tradition, and creativity.

Although partially rubbed away, you can still make out my father’s name on this apple: "Jerry."
